Visitor Information


The museum campus contains the Smiley-Tyler House, a 1926 adobe home which houses the main exhibits, the historic 1909 Schoolhouse, and the soon to be opened Date Museum. Also, the spacious grounds hold a variety of gardens, including a Memorial Date Garden, a Japanese Garden, and the oldest Cork Oak tree in the Coachella Valley. Other highlights include our Submarine house, a Blacksmith shop, and the archives for the Historical Society.

 

The Coachella Valley History Museum is open from 10 to 4 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and 1 to 4 on Sunday.


School tours are offered Monday through Thursday with reservations. For further information call 760.342.6651


The archives are available for research Monday through Thursday from 10 to 4 by appointment only.

The museum grounds are a beautiful setting for all sorts of events. We welcome private parties, photographers, and weddings to consider renting our grounds.
