Visitor Information
The museum campus contains the Smiley-Tyler House, a 1926 adobe home which houses the main exhibits, the historic 1909 Schoolhouse, and the soon to be opened Date Museum. Also, the spacious grounds hold a variety of gardens, including a Memorial Date Garden, a Japanese Garden, and the oldest Cork Oak tree in the Coachella Valley. Other highlights include our Submarine house, a Blacksmith shop, and the archives for the Historical Society.
The Coachella Valley History Museum is open from 10 to 4 on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and 1 to 4 on Sunday.
School tours are offered Monday through Thursday with reservations. For further

appointment only.

The museum grounds are a beautiful setting for all sorts of events. We welcome private
parties, photographers, and weddings to consider renting our grounds. We also have
an auditorium that can be utilized for indoor purposes. Please contact us if you
